You Don’t Have to Smile

It may seems like an unpopular opinion and I get it. Know what, I always admire those who don’t smile much.
As I ever
wrote before, I’m genuinely an introvert. I screwed up my teenage
life trying hard to be someone I was not. Laughing hard, telling jokes loudly,
probably just to seek attention or perhaps just to blend in. Acted all cheered
up and stuffs, didn’t realise i was turning into a public pleaser. As I grew
older, I realised the result of this was I always smiled around, even when I
didn’t mean to.
Smile is
good, it’s sunnah. But you have to mean it, all from your heart, don’t you?
So I
found my self often smiled even when I didn’t understand why. When I was
nervous, I smiled and talked gibberish, tried to make fun of something that’s
not even funny. It’s just until recently that I realised, I don’t really have
to smile.
Yes.
You
don’t have to smile around to be accepted. Because honest words will touch
hearts, more than a thousand fake smiles.
You don’t
have to be funny to make friends and make good impression.
Don’t
smile, when you don’t want to.
Really,
you’re not a public pleaser.
Only
smile and laugh, when your heart’s telling you to.
Be real,
be present.
Be
honest.
With
love,
Aysa
