There’s a well-known horror movie in
Australia, called Babadook. The story goes about a single mother who lives with
her 5 years old son. Her son keeps talking about Babadook, an imaginary monster
lurking around the house. He often shows himself as a huge monster’s shadow,
never once shows his true form.
At first the mom didn’t really pay
attention, but the Babadook becomes more real and bigger each day that it
starts to haunt their lives.
"Baba ba dook dook dook,"
that's what the boy says everytime Babadook seems to appear.
Weirdly, each time the mom is about to expose Babadook, it disappears as if nothing is actually there at the first place.

Just as Babadook,
I used to ignore and ran away from
things I labeled as “problems”, stacked them higher and higher, didn’t face
them properly. Until they became too big to handle and I ran away even more.
But once I was forced to confront
them, I realized things weren’t actually as big as I thought they were.
Most of them are just Babadooks
inside my head.
They didn’t truly exist.
They were only my alter egos.
